Police arrests driver of SUV with plate number 8 in viral road rage videos

A vehicle bearing a license plate number 8—assigned to a member of the House of Representatives—was involved in two road rage incidents in Quezon City.

One motorist previously complained about being harassed along Congressional Avenue in Quezon City by a driver riding an SUV with the plate number “8”. The incident was recorded on the victim’s dashcam.

A separate incident happened on Sunday in Balibago, Angeles City wherein a man was caught on camera hitting a driver of a red car. Just like the first incident, the suspect was driving an SUV with the “8” car plate.

After the incident reports, the police tracked the suspect via an initial information they got from the first road rage victim.

Operatives from Police Regional Office 3 and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) arrested the driver, identified as Jojo Valerio, at the Baketeers Bar and Grill in Tarlac City on Tueday night.

When they arrested Valerio, one of the suspects positively identified him as the driver of the vehicle with plate number 8.

However, the suspect remained mum when he was asked how he was able to get a vehicle with a courtesy plate.

Valerio also denied that he is related to anyone from the House of the Representatives—specifically to the Lazatin clan of Pampanga and its province’s incumbent congressman.

The suspect is a member of the band called ‘Lil Eyes’ and authorities found out that his band was about to perform in Tarlac City.

After his arrest, he was taken to Station 4 of the Angeles City Police Office for proper disposition.

The police is still looking for the SUV, an FJ Cruiser, which Valerio was seen driving in the said videos.
