Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC), a fitness movement that was launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, will officially begin tomorrow, October 26.
DFC, which began in 2017, will be returning this year aiming to make Dubai the most active city in the world.
Last year, 786,000 people of all ages and fitness levels took part in the first edition of the said challenge.
Now, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, who is known for his love for sports and healthy lifestyle, has been using social media platforms, such as Snapchat and Instagram, to encourage all residents, visitors, government organizations, businesses, and schools to take part and help achieve his goal of reaching one million participants for this year’s DFC.
“My vision for the Dubai Fitness Challenge was to create a truly inclusive movement across our city and the wider UAE, to sustainably enhance the health and long-term well-being of people of all ages, abilities, and levels of fitness.
“This year, we have a target of one million participants and I urge you all — residents and visitors — to invest in yourselves and your happiness — so you can better contribute to the welfare of your families, your communities and the global society. Take this opportunity, join the challenge and let’s move towards collectively making Dubai the most active city in the world,” HH Sheikh Hamdan previously said.
There will be five themed fitness villages across Dubai which will run for 26 days so that people who would like to participate can easily head to accessible locations near them and participate.
For those who are interested to take HH Sheikh Hamdan’s challenge and join DFC, they can do so by registering by downloading the Dubai Fitness Challenge App.
