Prisoners in Fujairah Punitive and Rehabilitation Establishments will now feel less isolated after a new video chat service has been introduced that will let them communicate with family members and loved ones.
A new visual electronic system was launched on Saturday by Major General Mohammad Ganem Al Kaabi, Commander-in-Chief of Fujairah Police, in the presence of Brigadier Mohammad Bin Nayya Al Tunaiji, Deputy Commander-in-Chief; and Brigadier Ahmad Hamdan Al Zuwaidi, director of punitive and rehabilitation center.
Using an iPad, prisoners will still be able to establish strong family ties through a modern technological channel.
Major General Al Kaabi said that they will still put in consideration legal limitations when prisoners will talk to their family and relatives.
Brigadier Al Zuwaidi confirmed that the video call initiative is part of the Year of Zayed’s initiatives to establish a culture of innovation in the institutional work environment.
It also aims to provide care for the inmates and to meet their needs to communicate with their families.
