President Rodrigo Duterte fired former Communications Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson, a source within Malacanang claimed.
A source told Inquirer.net that Duterte told Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go to call Uson to tell her that she has been fired.
“Sumobra na. Abusado masyado at arogante,” the source said.
The source added that since September, Duterte has not talked to Uson adding that the president usually cuts ties with officials who are deemed to be “harmful” for the country.
“Since she was fired last September, di na siya kinausap ni Presidente,” the source said.
“Ganoon naman si Presidente kapag napuno na di na kinakausap ang isang opisyal kasi harmful na siya sa bansa at sa Pangulo,” the source added.
However, a top Malacañang official denied the report. “Not true. She resigned,” Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea said in a text message to GMA News Online.
Her resignation came in the wake of controversies that caused lawmakers, citizens’ groups and netizens to call her to step down.
Uson was first appointed to work as the Assistant Secretary for Social Media of the PCOO in May 2017.
