A new mall will soon be constructed in Dubai and it will be bigger than 17 football fields, believe it or not.
One Avenue Mall will be one of the attractions in Union Properties’ Dh2.5 billion-project (Php14,797,251,429; $680 million) called Avenue District, reported Arabian Business.
Avenue District will be covering two million square feet of land area which will house a mix of leisure and residential spaces.
Ahmed Khouri, managing director of Union Properties, said that One Avenue Mall will be a “lifestyle-focused retail venue” with a “diverse F&B mix, and feature entertainment and retail options”.
Reports, meanwhile, state that the mall will occupy more than half of the total land area of Avenue District at more than one million square feet in size, more than the average size of 17 football fields combined, as per Penn Live.
“We are committed to creating vibrant destinations, such as Avenue District, that feature the full spectrum of facilities with a focus on leisure and entertainment,” Khouri said.
Meanwhile, the first residential community in Avenue District, 313 Avenue, will have 67 studio-type rooms, 156 one-bedroom apartments and 166 two-bedroom apartments.
The planning stage of the development is still in its early stages and limited information on the site are available, particularly on the specifics of the mall.
