2 batches of OFWs from Middle East return to PH

Two separate batches of overseas Filipino workers from Lebanon and Kuwait have arrived in Manila last Saturday, September 29.

The first batch consisting of 32 OFWs from Beirut arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 at 10:10 AM, while the second batch of 47 OFWs from Kuwait arrived later that same day at 4:10 PM, reported GMA News.

Just like the amnesty beneficiaries from the UAE, the repatriated OFWs from Lebanon and Kuwait will be given cash aid worth P5,000 each.

Officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) welcomed the OFWs from the said Middle Eastern countries and even assisted them through arrival procedures.

The returning OFWs can also avail OWWA’s livelihood assistance program, “Balik Pilipinas Balik Hanapbuhay”.
