A large landslide occurred at Portal 070, Brgy. Ucab, Itogon, Benguet at the height of super typhoon Ompong. As of today, Sept. 16, around 11 dead bodies have been recovered and an estimated 70 persons reported missing inside the mining community, according to Art Relief Mobile Kitchen, a SEC-registered non-profit humanitarian group founded on Nov.15, 2013 in the aftermath of Typhoon Yolanda. The group mobilizes to feed calamity victims. Rescue and retrieval operations are ongoing.
