Dogs get rescued from slaughter in Nueva Ecija

Ten dogs were rescued by the police and Animal Kingdom Foundation at Peñaranda, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday, August 22.

The dogs were found inside two tricycles, tied and bagged into sacks. They were supposed to be slaughtered in General Tinio but the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) intercepted the tricycles.

However, the suspects were able to flee from the police despite being under surveillance for two days, reported Inquirer.

Some of the dogs were stolen while some were bought for P30 per kilo. The dog meat would have been sold for P75 if their operation had not been botched.
