An overseas Filipina worker (OFW) was found dead inside a hotel room in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, August 18.
In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah, Edgar Badajos reported the death of the unnamed 52-year-old OFW who had been working as a domestic helper in the Gulf state since 2007.
The OFW was reported missing three days before her body was found. Badajos said the Consulate is still coordinating with the authorities regarding the cause of death of the Filipina.
“We are saddened to learn about the passing under still unknown circumstances of one of our kababayan,” Consul General Edgar Badajos said.
DFA assured to extend necessary help to the family of the OFW.
