Authorities on Monday, June 25, rescued a worker who fell into a construction hole in Al-Shawamekh area in Abu Dhabi.
The Civil Defence, together with the Abu Dhabi Police, rescued the man after receiving a call about the incident around 10:15 in the morning.
The victim was immediately rushed to Mafraq Hospital where he received medical treatment after suffering from severe injuries caused by the fall.
Brigadier General Musallam Mohammed Al Ameri, director of the police directorates of the external areas in the criminal security sector, reminded companies to always ensure safety of their workers in the workplace to avoid similar accidents in the future.
The public was also reminded to avoid construction and excavation sites for their own safety.
