An American man from Florida has been sentenced to 330 years in federal prison for raping Filipino children.
David Paul Lynch, 56, was found guilty of ‘travelling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct’ and for ‘possessing, receiving, and producing child pornography’ in 2017.
Lynch repeatedly travelled to the Philippines from 2005 to 2016 to have sex with Filipino children while filming the act. He also produced child pornography of at least three of his victims.
The US Department of Justice said that Lynch would make arrangements with locals in the Philippines to find the children he would sexually exploit.
On December 30, 2016, after more than a decade of sexually abusing Filipino children, Lynch was arrested by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in San Francisco as he was about to board a flight to the Philippines.
The FBI raided his home in Venice, Florida wherein self-produced images and videos of child sexual abuse, and emails soliciting child pornography were found.
During his trial on February 23, Lynch was charged with eight counts of producing and attempting to produce child pornography, two counts of travelling with the intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct, one count of receiving child pornography and one count of possessing child pornography.
Lynch will face a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years, up to 30 years, in federal prison for each production count; up to 30 years imprisonment for each travel count; a mandatory minimum penalty of five years, up to 20 years, for receiving child pornography; and up to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography.
Due to his offenses, he was sentenced to a total of 330 years of imprisonment. Aside from jail time, he was also ordered to forfeit his home, computers and other electronic devices.
