China to open its doors for Filipino teachers

President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday, January 26, 2018, said in his speech that he will ask China to provide jobs for the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) if foreign employers in Kuwait continue to abuse the expats.

According to The Philippine Star, Duterte asked other nationalities to give the Filipinos humane treatment at a press conference in New Delhi, India.

“I would like to address myself to all nations taking in Filipino as workers. All I ask is that you treat them decently. The complaint is that they’re fed with leftovers kaya nagsu-suicide eh,” Duterte said.

Filipinos overseas, he said, can come home as China is opening its doors for Filipino job seekers.

The President said Beijing, China is in need of teachers and domestic helpers.

“I said to them (China) that if you can consider the Philippines, we would be glad to allow our workers to work there,” he added.

China currently has 300,000 jobs available for Filipino workers, as per Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III.
