Asian faces trial after forging entry-exit stamps in Dubai

A 35-year-old salesman pleaded not guilty in a court hearing last Monday, January 22, after being accused of forging his passport to enter Dubai.

According to authorities, they caught the man in Bur Dubai area last November 2017 after the accused presented a passport with fake entry and exit stamps to an officer, reported Gulf News.

The bearer’s photo had also been tampered said the report.

However, when the accused faced the Dubai court, he reiterated that he was not aware that his passport was fake. He stated that due to the confiscation of his original passport back in 2011, he contacted a person who could provide him one.

It was sent via a courier and the passport was promised to be authentic.

The trial is set to resume on February 1.
