DUBAI: Aster DM Healthcare, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary, will be opening three clinics in the Philippines during the first quarter of next year to compliment its existing one in Manila, Alisha Moopen, executive director and CEO for hospitals and clinics in the GCC, told The Filipino Times.
There are three being commissioned as of now, said Moopen, adding that one will be in Ortigas.
Meantime, Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder, Chairman & Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, said Aster DM Healthcare, which has Filipinos comprising 20% to 25% of its total employees, is “very happy to see that the Filipino population (in the UAE) is growing.”
“It has grown tremendously in the past 10 to 15 years,” he said.
In marking its 30 years, Aster DM Healthcare also brought to light the social responsibility initiatives and programs under the Aster Volunteers umbrella that has so far benefited over 497,000 lives in the Middle East and India.
Addressing guests at the celebratory evening, Dr. Moopen, welcomed everyone, saying: “As proud as we are to celebrate these past 30 years, our journey has just begun.”

Five years on, we now operate 316 establishments, with 18,174 employees around the world. Our commitment to delivering compassionate care will continue through our successful Aster Volunteers programme that has been driving our community outreach efforts in the GCC and India,” he said.
Standing as a key pillar of the Aster@30 campaign, the Aster Volunteers programme that launched earlier this year and saw numerous initiatives in the region and India, which included Basic Life Support training of more than 104,600 people in the GCC and India on first responder techniques useful in emergencies such as heart attacks and choking.
Aster DM Healthcare is one of the largest private healthcare service providers which operate in multiple GCC states based on numbers of hospitals and clinics, according to a Frost & Sullivan Report.
