A piece of Trump in Manila

The newly-elected US President Donald Trump will find an easy connection to the Philippines in case he visits the country.

A piece of him is standing tall in the heart of Century City, Makati.

On Thursday, however, shares of Century Properties Group, a business partner of Trump, erased gains from a rally fueled by his victory.

Century Properties shares were down 9.72 percent to P0.65 after gaining 20 percent on Wednesday, when it became clear that the Republican real estate mogul and reality TV star had beaten his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.

It was in late 2011 when Century City Development Corp., a unit of Century Properties Group (CPG), announced the construction of Trump Tower Manila in Century City, Makati.

According to Trump Tower Manila’s official website, the whole building has been completed as of May 2016.

In a statement released early 2015, CPG said 94 percent of Trump Tower’s units had been pre-sold two years before its projected completion.

CPG is yet to announce when Trump Tower will be ready for occupancy.
