When Filipinos think of summer – they are immediately taken to visions of the beach, the sea, and delicious meals by the shore, especially since there are specific fruits available only during this period.

Asia Kitchen by Mainland China conceptualized a new menu out of this unique idea and has since introduced their latest summer dishes to capture the taste of these summer ingredients for a limited period only.

The restaurant, located at the Ground Floor of Burjuman Mall, brings together in several dishes aimed to give diners’ palates an exciting experience as if they’ve gone to the beach of different Far Eastern countries to have a taste of their delicacies.

Here are some of Asia Kitchen by Mainland China’s Summer Festival Dishes:

Banana Blossom Salad. The mild yet inviting aroma of the food will already entice you to grab a quick bite of this unique salad dish made from banana blossoms. With options of vegetarian or shrimp, each spoonful of the dish has a texture augmented with deliciousness that really stands out.

Corn and Zucchini with Watermelon Salsa. Among summer’s best fruits is the Watermelon as it already exudes freshness in itself. Chefs from Asia Kitchen by Mainland China infused the flavors of Watermelon and created a salsa to be paired with Corn and Zucchini molded into shapes similar to that of a pancake’s.

Szechuan Poached Dumplings. Lined up in a batch of single-served spoons are the Szechuan Poached Dumplings which spice lovers would surely enjoy. The tenderness in flavors of either chicken or prawn is complimented well with the sauces and spices mixed together with it in each single bite.

Crab Rangoon. Don’t let its simplicity catch you off guard: Asia Kitchen by Mainland China’s Crab Rangoon brings out the best flavors of freshly caught crabs to serve them in bite-sized starters that pack a full flavor of perhaps one of the best tasting seafood at the shores of the Far East.

Chili Honey Pomfret with Fresh Strawberry. Whoever said Strawberries can only be part of dessert has clearly never tried this dish – it accentuates the flavor of the fish with a unique fusion of spices and actual pieces of fresh strawberry, giving it the sweetness of the fruit, spiciness of the chilies along with the natural flavors of the sea.

Sliced Fish in Szechuan Broth. Spicy food aficionados shouldn’t miss having a taste of this broth that really brings the heat to the table. While the spiciness is evidently there the moment the broth hits your lips, it complements the flavors of the fresh fish that’s served along with it which balances out the savory flavors.

Pineapple Fried Rice. A staple in many Filipino households reimagined and served in a fresh Pineapple, each spoonful of Asia Kitchen by Mainland China’s Pineapple Fried Rice is a unique mix of infused juices from the fresh pineapple, varying levels of spice depending if you had ordered it mild or spicy, as well as the texture of each grain of rice that was cooked to perfection which you’ll realize the moment you taste it.

Noodles with Bean Sprout. If you’re more of a noodle lover, you’ll get to enjoy this simple yet equally delicious dish made out of both freshly pulled noodles and recently-harvested bean sprouts. The dish easily goes along with any of the starters and main courses for the summer menu.

Avocado Ice Cream with Honey Caviar. To cap off the experience of your taste buds for summer, Asia Kitchen by Mainland China also has their very own summer ice cream: The Avocado Ice Cream with Honey Caviar that just oozes with subtle sweetness of the honey coupled with the freshness of Avocados in time for that summer plunge.

Diners interested to experience the flavors of summer from the Far East can still enjoy the dishes served by Asia Kitchen by Mainland China until the end of August.
