The UAE’s national cybersecurity systems have successfully responded to cyberattacks targeting 634 government and private entities.

According to WAM, these attacks aimed to leak sensitive data from important sectors, but the UAE acted quickly using top global security measures to protect its systems and people.

Dr. Mohamed AlKuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government, said a threat group called “rose87168” claimed to have breached Oracle Cloud systems, leaking around six million customer records globally, including passwords.

He mentioned that approximately 140,000 entities worldwide may have been affected by this breach, with 634 of them in the UAE. Out of these, 30 are government entities, 13 are private, and the rest are other types of organizations.

The Cybersecurity Council confirmed that emergency systems were activated across the UAE, working with key authorities to protect the country’s cyberspace from hacking attempts.

The Council also reminded all government offices and private companies to strengthen their cybersecurity systems, stay alert, and report any suspicious digital activity immediately.
