Daniel Padilla renews contract with ABS-CBN

Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla has officially signed another contract with ABS-CBN in an event on Monday, February 12.

Padilla has been in the entertainment industry for 15 years.

During the signing ceremony, Padilla’s sister Magui Ford made a surprise appearance to support the actor in his contract renewal. The two recently went to Siargao for a trip following the actor’s breakup with longtime girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo.

In a media event, Padilla was asked about his secret to work.

“‘Yun lang naman ino-offer ko nung nagsimula ako sa industriya na ito diba, is me being myself, na pinapakita ko sa mga tao at hinding hindi nagbago ‘yon,” said Padilla.

ABS-CBN leaders, COO Cory Vidanes and President and CEO Carlo Katigbak also acknowledged Padilla’s contribution to the company.

Bernardo also recently signed with the Kapamilya network last February 2 ending speculations that she will be moving to another network.

“What a day! Parang extra-emotional ako today,” said Bernardo as she looked back at her journey as a Kapamilya and thanked all the staff and mentors she had worked with.

“Alam ko na naging mahirap din sa inyo especially last year—so many challenges. Ang dami nating pinagdaanan pero nandito ako, nandito kayo—kaya natin, kinaya and kakayanin. So don’t worry about anything, don’t worry about me,” she added.

Bernardo thanked those who understood her and stood by her with whatever she was going through not just as a celebrity but also as a human being.

“Maraming salamat kasi inintindi niyo lahat ng kailangan kong gawin and mga naging desisyon namin bilang tao, hindi bilang artista,” she added.

Bernardo announced her break up with long time boyfriend Daniel Padilla last November.

She also called ABS-CBN her family and second home.

“I would do anything for family. Tawagan niyo lang ako, ako ang bahala sa inyo,” she told the ABS-CBN executives present in the contract signing.
