Morocco’s national soccer team, known as the Atlas Lions, have achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first African and Arab nation to advance to the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup.
In a nail-biting match against Portugal, Morocco secured a deserved 1-0 victory thanks to a stunning first-half header from Youssef En-Nesyri. Despite being injured, En-Nesyri showed incredible athleticism and determination to score the winning goal, sending Morocco through to the next round.
This marks the fourth time that an African country has reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup, but Morocco is the first to make it to the final four. This achievement is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication, as well as the support of their fans back home. The Atlas Lions will now face the winner of the Anglo-Franco clash on Wednesday, with the hopes of their nation resting on their shoulders.
