The Dubai Criminal Court has imposed a fine of AED 50,000 on a Gulf national for filming a police patrol and later sharing the video with his girlfriend.
The 32-year-old shared the video clip via ‘Snapchat’ with his girlfriend. The Court of Appeal upheld the ruling rejecting the appeal against conviction, said a report in the Khaleej Times.
Accompanied by two of his friends in a car in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah area the police caught the driver talking on a mobile phone and penalised him.

The accused sitting in the back seat of the car filmed himself on his phone with the police patrol car in the background while hurling an obscene word.
The accused refused to share the video with the policeman and was taken to the police station.
The Court of Appeal went through the case papers, confession of the accused, and forensic report to uphold the original verdict.
