6 people kidnapped along highway in Batangas

Six people who went on vacation were kidnapped by still unidentified men.

The group, composed of eight individuals, was in their vehicle on their way to Cavite when they were intercepted by armed men along the Nasugbu-Tagaytay Highway last Friday, October 29, reported GMA News.

The group came from a vacation in Matabungkay in Batangas.

The armed men dragged them out of their vehicle and forced them to transfer to another vehicle. Two of the victims were able to escape during the commotion while the remaining six were taken by the suspects.

The two victims who escaped rushed to a restaurant and were later taken under custody of the police.

The relatives of those taken said the suspects have yet to make any contact with them.

The victims’ rented vehicle was later found in Calamba, Laguna.

Laurel Police officer-in-charge Police Captain Errol Frejas said the incident is still being investigated. They were able to get hold of a CCTV footage of the incident.

Frejas noted that one of the victims was involved in illegal drugs back in 2020.
