Senator Panfilo Lacson bared Tuesday talks with radio and television personality Raffy Tulfo over the latter’s possible senatorial run in next year’s national elections.
Lacson, who earlier announced his presidential bid, said they are in talks with Tulfo, but “minor” issues still have to be resolved. The senator said they are also talking to former Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol.
“We’re talking to Raffy Tulfo, we talked already but yun nga may mga nire-resolve pang ibang mga minor issue, mga concerns niya,” Lacson said in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel.
According to Lacson, his senatorial line-up for the 2022 polls is “almost firmed up” but is still not final. Lacson will have Senate President Tito Sotto as his vice-presidential running mate.
Some names floating for the senatorial slate of the Lacson-Sotto tandem are former Senator JV Ejercito, and reelectionist senators Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri and Senator Joel Villanueva.
It is still unclear if Senator Sherwin Gatchalian, who earlier announced his intention to run for the vice presidency, will run for the Senate instead.
“Magulo pa yung kay Sen. Sherwin, naguguluhan pa si Senate President kung ano talaga ang desisyon niya,” Lacson said.
