Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte revealed that she was personally informed about the decision of President Rodrigo Duterte to run as Vice President and Senator Bong Go as President before their announcement.
“I was left with two letters endorsed to me by the President for consideration. One note explained why I should endorse the Go-Duterte tandem while the other suggested that I take Senator Go as Vice President,” she said.
The Davao mayor said she suggested to her father and Go to publicly confirm their decision to run as a tandem.
“If they can confirm it privately, then I do not see the reason why they cannot be candid about it in public,” she said.
Sara told the supporters of Go-Duterte tandem to stop talking about her and refrain from making her “the reason for them running or not running”.
“I respectfully advise them to stop talking about me and make me the reason for them running or not running,” said the mayor.
Her statement comes following Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles’ interview with CNN Philippines saying that President Duterte is “considering not running for vice president” to avoid the Duterte-Duterte scenario.
“He said that if Mayor Sara runs, then he is considering not running for vice president, sinabi niya,” Nograles said.
“He said na ‘yung Duterte-Duterte to him — and he’s always consistent diyan — sabi niya pag Duterte-Duterte parang, to him, he is not convinced that it should happen, at least itong 2022 national elections,” he added.

The Davao mayor also slammed Senator Koko Pimentel and Ron Munsayac of PDP-Laban for using blaming her on the fate of their political party.
“Do not blame me for the sitcom that your party has been reduced to,” she said.
