Vice President Leni Robreo said that she was not comfortable with the proposal of Senator Ping Lacson to file all their candidacies in the 2022 elections and withdraw in the end based on chances of winning.
In an interview on CNN Philippines, Robredo said that she does not want to betray her supporters in a possible presidential run.
“Ayokong ma panlilinlang sa supporters. Ayoko na syempre pag nagfile kami meron na yang, tataya na ang mga to. Sinamahan ka sa laban. Kung magwiwithdraw ako middle of the game, ang pakiramdam ko panlilinlang,” Robredo said.
The Vice President said that she does not want to feel supported are pitted against each other.
“Yung pinakaproposal talaga we all file. pag nagfile magsasabong ang aming supporters. Yung mga supporters namin tataya na sa amin. Aasa sila na dahil nagfile kami hanggang katapusan na ito. Ang ayaw naming sitwasyon, in the middle of the game biglang magwiwithdraw. I didn’t feel good about it pero ang usapan namin hindi tinuldukan,” she said.
Robredo however says that she is still open to talk with Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto to discuss other matters.
“Siguro find a common ground. Hindi ako sang-ayon sa proposal na yun pero para sa akin ang dami pang pwedeng pag-usapan,” Robredo said.
