The Department of Health says it is studying the possibility of allowing vaccinated people against COVID-19 not to wear their face masks.
Health spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire said that they are looking at a recommendation to allow those who have completed inoculation to stop wearing face masks.

“Kung sa US sila ay nagkaroon na ng polisiya na pwede nang hindi mag-mask pag nasa labas, tayo po rito hindi pa rin ‘yan ma-consider kasi ‘yung rate ng vaccination natin di naman pareho sa Estados Unidos,” she said.
Based on Our World Data, at least 132 million Americans or 40.2% of its population have been fully vaccinated.
The Philippines on the other hand has only 1.02 million people fully vaccinated, or 0.94% of the country’s roughly 110 million population.

“We are studying this recommendation to see if we can also apply this in specific bubbles,” Vergeire added.
The DOH official said there are other factors to consider before allowing people to stop wearing face masks. (TDT)
