TESDA advises OFWs to submit requests for assessment, certification online

The Philippine Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is urging outbound Overseas Filipino Workers to use online services for submitting requests for assessment and certification of their files on Domestic Work NC II.

The applications can be submitted through the TESDA mobile app and website.

The process, according to TESDA Secretary Isidro S. Lapeña, is a breeze that can be done at the click of a button. Applicants just have to visit their website, locate the “TESDA Abot Lahat ang OFWs” button, click it and submit their application.

Upon clicking the button, OFW applicants will be asked what kind of qualification they need to be assessed for.

Moreover, OFWs in the provinces are also being encouraged to undergo competency evaluation in the assessment center closer to their place of residence to avoid overcrowding in the National Capital Region (NCR).

“We are encouraging all our outbound OFWs to take up their competency assessment on Domestic Work NC II at the nearest training institutions in their area,” Lapeña said. “We assure you that we will accommodate all outbound OFWs who need to be assessed.”

Lapeña said that TESDA technology institutions with accredited assessment centers in Metro Manila are receiving the bulk of applications for Domestic Work assessment compared to those located in the provinces.

The country has 34 TESDA technology institutions that offer competency assessment on Domestic Work NC II, of which three are in the NCR including TESDA-Navotas Training Institute in Navotas; TESDA Women’s Center (TWC); and, Pasay-Makati District Training and Assessment Center (PMDTAC) both in Taguig City. Other regions also offer assessment on Domestic Work NC II.
