The vaccination of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) against COVID-19 may start next month, according to the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
“Ayon sa pagkakaalam namin around May this year sisimulan yung A4… Lahat, basta OFWs, whether returned or departing,” said OWWA Administrator Hans Leo Cacdac.
This comes after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF-EID) decided to move OFWs from 10th to the 4th spot in the COVID-19 vaccination priority list.
Cacdac noted that OFWs have an option to be inoculated in the Philippines or in their host country.
The Philippines has an existing policy that requires foreign countries and employers to shoulder the vaccination of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) against COVID-19.
