Know who are exempted from fines for Abu Dhabi tolls

The Integrated Traffic Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi on January 1 announced that it has approved over 8,000 requests for exemptions from the fines of the new Darb toll gates in Abu Dhabi, Khaleej Times reported.

ITC said these requests came from eligible categories, including senior citizens aged 60 and above; retired citizens; people of determination; and citizens with limited income.

They will be exempted from the charges provided they register in the Darb system (https://darb.itc.gov.ae or the smart application, DARB in App Store/Google Play/App Gallery), specify the type of exemption, and attach the necessary documents.

The registration fee for an account in Darb costs AED100 per car, of which, AED50 will be credited as a balance in the registered account.

According to ITC, the exemption is limited to one car only.
