The UAE has ranked number 1 in the Middle East region and 14th globally in terms of COVID-19 handling, according to a survey released by UK’s Global Soft Power Index.
The survey ranked 105 countries in the world based on the assessment of tens of thousands of people.
Lauding the UAE’s top placement in the survey, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said: “According to a questionnaire for the Global Soft Power Index issued by Brand Finance from Britain that included tens of thousands of people in 105 countries around the world. The UAE ranked first in the Middle East and 14th in the world in the efficiency of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.”
With the UAE’s international efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus, the country has attained a net score of +33%.
Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention, described the ranking a new testament to the government’s efficient, forward-looking vision in handling the pandemic.
