Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has announced penalties of up to SR100,000 for individuals found sheltering visit visa holders in violation of Hajj regulations, according to a report by Okaz newspaper.
The ministry said the fines apply to anyone who provides accommodation, whether in hotels, apartments, private homes, or other facilities, to visitors who lack the required permits to perform Hajj.
The penalties also extend to those who conceal such individuals or offer any form of assistance that enables them to remain in Makkah and other holy sites without proper authorization.
Authorities said the measures will be strictly enforced throughout the Hajj season, from the beginning of Dhul Qada until mid-Dhul Hijjah.
Fines may increase depending on the number of violators involved in each case.
The ministry urged the public to strictly follow Hajj regulations and cooperate with authorities to maintain the safety and security of pilgrims. It warned that violations could result in serious legal consequences.
Residents were also encouraged to report any breaches through designated emergency hotlines across different regions in the Kingdom.
