Saudi Arabia to assess arriving passengers from China for coronavirus

Saudi Arabia has implemented its screening process of passengers arriving from China, whether through direct or indirect flights, Arab News reported reported.
The Kingdom made the decision after the death toll for flu-like virus increases to 17, with those contracting the disease rising to 540 across the globe.
According to Saudi’s Ministry of Health, Saudi will strictly implement the rule to ensure the safety of every passenger and resident.

It is also coordinating with the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) in the screening process, as well as with the World Health Organization in monitoring how close the virus evolves.

The ministry also advised travelers going to the affected cities to avoid markets, dead or live animals, and animal derived products.
The virus was first reported in Wuhan City in China, and can be contracted via human transmission. It has now reached other countries like Thailand, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and USA.
