A Qantas flight from Melbourne to Dallas was forced to divert after a passenger allegedly bit a flight attendant mid-flight.

The incident happened on Friday, prompting the aircraft to make an unscheduled landing in Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia.

According to local reports, the disruptive passenger was restrained by fellow travelers before the aircraft diverted for safety reasons.

Upon arrival, the man was met by local authorities and later banned from all Qantas flights.
