Nayong Pilipino welcomes New Year with good news as the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) and the Department of Tourism (DOT) will establish a world-class Cultural Park and Creative Hub in Parañaque City.
This marks the return of Nayong Pilipino in Metro Manila — the old Nayon near the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) was closed in 2002 to give way for the airport’s expansion.
The Nayong Pilipino, which was dubbed as country’s version of Disneyland, is envisioned to freely and innovatively celebrate Filipino identity.
The new Nayon will rise on 9.57 hectares of land in Entertainment City in Parañaque.
NPF also clarified that no casino will rise at the new Nayon.
In a statement, NPF said the New Nayon will be a place for enlivening the stories of our nation and nurturing our love of country.
NPF added that it will develop programs and spaces for rediscovering our roots and enriching our contemporary emergence and provide platforms for reimagining the nation.
Nayong Pilipino was established in 1970 to showcase Filipino culture through miniature renditions of tourist sites.
It was transferred in the Clark Freeport Zone in 2007 after the original Nayon’s closure in 2002.
