A 92-year-old grandmother, Lola Florirose Talastas is the latest and newest service crew of a fastfood restaurant in Legarda, Manila.
In an interview with GMA News, Lola Rose said she chose to continue working while she is physically active because she did not like being bored at home.
Lola Rose added that she used to work as a traffic enforcer before taking on a job as a customer relations staff.
She is allowed to work four hours a day and is assigned to do light chores during her shift.
Early this year, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has signed an agreement with fastfood chain restaurants to allow senior citizens and functional persons with disabilities to employ them like what is being done in Singapore.
The fast food company thanked her through their FB page. “Isang malaking thank you to our strong, hardworking service crew members tulad ni Lola Rose! We’re glad for the chance to give job opportunities to senior citizens like her in Manila.“
