TFT Lifestyle TV’s most memorable, challenging episodes for first year run

What’s your favorite TFT Lifestyle TV episode?

TFT Lifestyle TV celebrates its 1st anniversary recounting the most memorable episodes as what was once a casual talk of thinking about a platform that will tell the story of Filipinos here in the UAE has eventually evolved into a weekly show for Filipinos all over the world to see the sights, sounds, and experiences of Filipinos who live as expats in this country.

Motherly love

The Filipino Times General Manager Vince Ang shares that the pilot episode showed the unconditional love that Filipinos have for their moms and the sincere love that their kids and families reciprocate for them. “Ambilis ng panahon kasi if you can remember Dan, we were just conceptualizing the idea kung papaano tayo gagawa ng isang show kung saan maipapakita natin yung lifestyle ng mga Pilipino. For the pilot episode na that time ay Mother’s Day, ginawan natin ng paraan para makalipad si Dan over the weekend para i-surprise yung mommy nya at nakakatawa dun  kasi nakita din natin kung ano ba yung background ni Dan,” shares Ang.

Papal Visit

Sobrang grateful talaga,” shares TFT Lifestyle TV Writer Heidecel Serrano as she recounts heading to Abu Dhabi at the wee hours of the morning to cover the historic event.

“And I think nakaka amaze makita yung dami ng Pinoy doon, it just goes to show kung gaano din ka lakas yung faith ng mga Pilipino,” said Ang.

TFT Lifestyle TV’s Senior Editor Butch Robles furthered that the event also showcased the faith of other expat communities in time for the UAE’s Year of Tolerance: “Pati yung mga ibang lahi makikita mo na united sila in one faith,”

UAE’s Hidden Gems

TFT Lifestyle TV’s Videographer Mark Christian Domingo shared that prior to the UAE travel episode, his friends didn’t know that there were picturesque and unique places to visit here in the Emirates apart from the usual landmarks.

Memorable episodes

League for Legacy. TFT Lifestyle Host Dan on the Go shares that this episode shares the value of paying it forward as it is rewarding to see how communities grow when you give back. “Kasi no matter how successful we are, we should always learn to give back to the community – that’s what we should always remember. Kasi you will become more successful if you know how to give back,” said Dan.

Mother’s Day. The pilot episode stirred hearts of netizens as they learned about the plights of moms here in the UAE.

Chef Jade. The inspiring life story of a young Filipina chef who competed and won an international competition struck the hearts of Pinoy expats as they were moved with Chef Jade’s story. “Sobrang ganda ng life story nya tapos ang haba-haba ng video ang hirap mag cut,” said Serrano. “It’s inspiring, fun and educational.

Travel Episodes. Dan on the Go’s special travel episodes also gave hints to the viewers about the places they shouldn’t miss when they go out of the country to travel. “Habang nag e-edit kami, nadadagdagan ang bucket list,” shares Robles. “Pinakita natin na yung mga Pinoy dito nag s-save din sila to enjoy din para sa sarili nila which is good kasi di lang tayo basta nagpapadala ng pera, at the same time, ine-enjoy din natin yung pinaghihirapan natin,” said Ang.

Ang thanks the viewers first and foremost for their unyielding support on watching each episode, every week.

Ang and Dan on the Go likewise thanked the partners for their trust and confidence on the platform to reach Filipinos here in the UAE.
