The four-month-old baby girl of British Henry Curteis and his Filipina wife, who is also a British citizen by marriage, will finally be reunited with her whole family.
Baby Selene’s case made headlines in the United Kingdom after a delay in the baby’s passport from the London Home Office that is responsible for immigration.
Henry and Shane visited the Philippines last March to visit the Filipina’s parents, when she gave birth to a baby girl.
“I gave birth here in the Philippines and was thinking we can get her passport not more than few months because my husband and I are British,” the Filipina told The Filipino Times.
The family was not able to secure a passport for baby Selene after the Home Office said it has not received the documents sent by the couple.
Shane Curteis told TFT how she felt when she had to leave the Philippines without her baby in her arms.
“Nothing can compare how difficult it is being away from your children, really,” Shane said.
The 32-year old Filipina said she had to go back to UK because of her responsibilities.
“We have to go back to the UK and leave her here because we have another 2 children that go to school,” she explained.
It was difficult for Shane to leave her baby but she trusted her parents to take care of Selene.
