Legendary Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan, who is known for his roles in hit movies ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ and ‘Life of Pi’ has died on April 28 after battling cancer. He was 53.
Khan passed away after he was admitted to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Mumbai due to a colon infection. In 2018, he revealed that he was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor.
The actor is a big name in Bollywood, starring in numerous box-office hits like ‘The Lunchbox.’ ‘Piku,’ and ‘Hindu Medium.’
However, he has also successfully penetrated Hollywood and the international film scene when her low budget film ‘The Warrior’ won an award the best British film in British Academy Film Awards.
Khan then started as a policeman in award-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire,’ which won eight accolades in Oscars. He also played a doctor in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ in 2012, a businessman in ‘Jurassic World’ (2015), as well as The Provost in ‘Inferno’ (2016).
In 2012 he played the adult version of Pi in another Oscar-winning film Life of Pi, directed by Ang Lee.
