Kapuso stars join Miss World Philippines 2019

Three Kapuso celebrities made it to Miss World Philippines’ Top 40 contestants.

GMA 7 stars Isabelle De Leon, Michelle Dee and Kelley Day will compete with 37 contestants to win the Miss World Philippines crown.

The final screening for the Top 40 candidates was held in San Juan City, August 4.

Kelley told Pep.ph that this will be her first time in joining beauty pageants.

“It’s my first time in pageantry, and I really did not expect it to be this exhausting, nerve-wracking, but very rewarding. So I’m very thankful, and, of course, to all of the other girls that made it through and the ones that didn’t, we all did a great job today,” Kelley said.

Isabelle, on the other hand, said that she gave Miss World Philippines a shot to learn from it.

She said that there’s more to life if you get out of your comfort zone.

“And I just really want to grow as a person, as a woman, and as an artist kaya I joined the Miss World Philippines pageant,” Isabelle said.

The daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez, Michelle Dee, is also making waves in the pageant.

Michelle said that there were several attempts for her to join pageants but she feels that it’s not yet the right time.

“This moment has been a long time coming. I just hope to continue my training and do well for everyone,” Michelle said.

No final date yet on when the coronation for Miss World Philippines 2019 will be held.

Katarina Rodriguez is the reigning Miss World Philippines.

Kapuso actress Wynwyn Marquez won the first ever Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas crown in 2017.
