Jose Javier Reyes comments on ‘possible replacements’ for Idol Philippines judges

Award winning director Jose Javier Reyes recently posted a controversial tweet about his thoughts on the judges for Idol Philippines.

In his tweet, he suggested several names of prominent singers who he thinks might be better to sit at the panel of judges.

Netizens then shared their mixed views about the tweet of Reyes’ tweet.

At present, the Kapamilya talent search show features Regine Velasquez, Vice Ganda, Moira dela Torre, and James Reid as judges.

In a previous episode, netizens questioned the contradicting comments of the judges, particularly for James, Vice, and Moira after saying ‘no’ to Luke Baylon and his reggae rendition of the song “if I Ain’t Got You”.

In a more recent episode that featured the audition of Ibrahim Onggo, Regine once again contradicted the views of the three other judges who said that Onggo’s rendition of “One in a Million You” didn’t quite fit the emotion for the song.

In a later tweet, the director apologized for the suggestion. “A misstep to make the suggestions. We all want the show to work to give chance to new talents. My apologies for the insensitivity,” he said.
