Vice Ganda says granting his mom’s wish is his “biggest achievement”

Vice Ganda is still on cloud nine after his Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Fantastica” earned 300 million on December 30, only five days after it hit theaters.

However, the Kapamilya comedian said in an Instagram post that no box-office success would be considered as a bigger achievement than to him granting his mom’s wish.

Vice Ganda shared on New Year’s Eve that he took his mother to Spain to visit Sagrada Familia, the famous unfinished church in Barcelona. He said that it has been a long-time wish of his mother to visit the said church but his work demands hindered him from granting it in the past.

Posting a photo of him and his mother, Rosario Viceral, in from of the said church, Vice Ganda wrote: “Last year, she said she wished to go to Barcelona to be able to see the Sagrada Familia. My profession deprives me of quality time with my family. So when given the chance I make sure every moment counts and everything creates a wonderful memory. Before this year ends, I brought her to where she wished to be.”

However, their planned visit did not go the way they expected because they were not able to book a tour inside the church online.

With the help of a friend, Vice Ganda was able to book a tour for one person which he gave to his mom.

“I didn’t know we had to book online to get access inside the church. So I asked a friend for help. Unfortunately, only one could get inside. And like a parent to a child I am now patiently waiting for her to finish her ‘field trip’ inside the Sagrada Familia. I AM THE HAPPIEST SON RIGHT NOW!” he said.

He then said that no matter how successful he gets in his showbiz career, nothing will ever be more fulfilling than to provide for his family.

“Fantastica is such a huge hit and continues to win in box office. But for me this is a bigger achievement. My biggest so far. To be able to grant my Nanay’s wishes as she gets older is big deal for me. Vice Ganda is accomplished. Tutoy is successful. This is how I end my 2018.”. he said referring to his childhood nickname.

Vice Ganda said during the 7th anniversary of his late night comedy talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice” that “Tutoy will be his nanay’s source of joy”. He said that he will never lose his true identity because that is what brings joy and happiness to his mother.
