Lolit Solis slams Moira Dela Torre for denying knowledge of concert for ex-prez Marcos

by | Entertainment

Talent manager and showbiz columnist Lolit Solis took to Instagram to slam singer Moira Dela Torre for denying she had no idea that the concert she performed in last September 11 was a Marcos event.

It can be recalled that Dela Torre, who became popular because of the songs “Titibo-tibo”, “Tagpuan”, and “Malaya”, found herself in hot water a few months ago when netizens accused her of being a “Marcos apologist” after she performed during the commemoration of former president Ferdinand Marcos’ 101 birthday in Laoag, Ilocos Norte.

The singer then denied that she supports the late dictator and that no one told her that the event was a tribute to him.

Through an Instagram post dated November 7, Solis lambasted the singer and asked her why does it seem like she is embarrassed to perform for the Marcoses.

Solis also questioned Dela Torre for saying she did not know any information about the event.

The talent manager also said that Dela Torre need not deny anything about performing at the said event as she is a singer and not as a political endorser.

Similarly, Solis said that she does not see the point in making an issue when comedian Vice Ganda was seen in the same plane with Imee Marcos. She said that political beliefs should not hinder celebrities from doing their jobs.
