Ampatuan’s wedding attendance disappoints Duterte

President Rodrigo Duterte is disappointed that a high profile criminal was allowed to attend an event outside of prison.

He was referring to Zaldy Ampatuan who was allowed by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to attend his daughter’s wedding at the Sofitel Manila on Tuesday, August 21.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a press briefing that the President opposed the motion and dismayed that it was still granted.

However, Roque assured that Ampatuan’s privilege does not implicate anything and will not affect the case, reported the Inquirer.

Ampatuan is currently detained at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City after being charged for the death of 58 people including 32 journalists in the Maguindanao massacre in 2009.
