The Bureau of Customs (BOC) announced the successful negotiated sale of the four remaining luxury vehicles linked to contractor couple Curlee and Sarah Discaya, completing the disposal of all vehicles seized in connection with the alleged flood control corruption scandal.
In a statement, the BOC said the final batch of vehicles generated an estimated P12.276 million in proceeds. These include a 2022 GMC XL Yukon Denali sold for P3.209 million, a 2021 Cadillac Escalade for P3.750 million, a 2022 Maserati Levante Modena for P2.008 million, and a 2022 GMC Yukon Denali for P3.309 million.
The bureau added that, including a Volvo XC90 2009 valued at P70,000, total projected proceeds from the negotiated sale of forfeited, abandoned, and seized items reached P12.346 million.
Overall, the BOC said it has generated P114.74 million from the auction and negotiated sale of all 13 Discaya-linked vehicles. The proceeds will be remitted to the Bureau of the Treasury.
Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the completion of the vehicle disposal reflects the agency’s commitment to transparency and accountability in managing forfeited assets.
“Today’s completion of the disposal of all remaining Discaya vehicles reflects the Bureau’s firm commitment to transparency, accountability, and decisive action in the management of forfeited assets,” Nepomuceno said.
The BOC noted that the results of the negotiated sale remain subject to approval by the Department of Finance secretary, in accordance with Customs Memorandum Order No. 26-2020.
