The issue at hand: commenters believe that the girl shouldn’t have gone this far to prove her love for his man.
It all started when her boyfriend shared on a Facebook post that she gave him the best gift ever — his dream pair of shoes, a Nike Concord.
On the social media post that has since gone viral, the boyfriend wrote that he failed to purchase the shoes after they quickly got sold out. To his surprise, his girlfriend had found a way to buy him a pair from an online sports store. The item is priced at P10,645 on the website.
As of press time, the boyfriend’s post has earned over 24,000 reactions on Facebook and over 5,000 comments containing the different points of views about the said post.
A number of netizens did not like the fact that the boy called his girlfriend a “keeper”, just because she gave him an expensive item. They said that giving material gifts should not be the basis if someone is worth keeping or not.
Due to the heated argument, the boyfriend has decided to disable the comment section to distance himself from the negativity.
A few days after the post became viral, the girl amid this online buzz reacted, saying that her boyfriend gave her a very expensive gift as well, which is a limited-edition of Kendall + Kylie bag. It only had three available stocks in the Philippines. Aside from the bag, she added that she also received a pair of red stilettos from her boyfriend.
In the end, the couple said they just wanted to share to the world how they show their love for each other.
