Ogie Diaz was one of the most recent television personalities to air his opinion on the ongoing legal battle of Gretchen Fullido against several of her ABS-CBN colleagues who she accused of sexual harassment and libel.
It can be recalled that Fullido filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against Cheryl Favila and Maricar Asprec for allegedly sending her “text messages that were loaded with sexual innuendos, which amounted to requests for sexual favors”. She also filed a libel case against Ces Drilon, Venancio Borromeo, and Marie Lozano, for “besmirching her reputation”.
In Diaz’s Facebook post titled “Mama Ogs Answers” shared on October 10, the well-known talent manager and showbiz columnist answered some questions about current issues – one of which is the controversy involving Fullido.
One of the questions asked was, “Mama Ogs, ano naman masasabi mo sa kasong isinampa ni Gretchen Fullido laban sa nang-harras sa kanya?”
Diaz, who is known for his strong opinions said, “I am for Gretchen. At naniniwala ako sa kanya. So, ipaglaban mo ang iyong karapatan, Gretchen!”
But the revelations did not stop there as Diaz disclosed in his Facebook post that he also had an unfortunate encounter with Favila.
Diaz used to be a part of the ABS-CBN morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda”, but he suddenly disappeared from the show in October 2010.
Eight years later, he revealed in the same post that he was fired from the show by Favila, who was the executive producer of “Umagang Kay Ganda” at that time, and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa, who was the former head of news and current affairs.
“Hindi ako umalis. Tinanggal ako nu’ng October 2010 ni Maria Ressa (head ng news and current affairs that time) at nu’ng EP noon na si Cheryl Favila (na idinemanda ni Gretchen Fullido), dahil ang rason nila, tumatanggap daw ako ng PR envelopes sa mga pinupuntahan kong showbiz presscons.
“Ayun, wala na sila sa ABS-CBN, ako, awa ng Diyos, nandiyan pa rin at may existing network contract. So thank you, Lord!” Diaz said.
However, even though he was fired from the show, Diaz said that he has no plans in returning.
“Nako, masyonda na ang lola. Di ko na kering gumising nang madaling-araw. Saka can’t afford to have so many kaaways dahil sa mga blind item ko,” Diaz said.
Aside from Fullido’s sexual harassment case, Diaz also talked about some more political and entertainment issues.
