A restroom at the Philippine National Railways station in España Boulevard in Manila raised some eyebrows for its questionable set-up – it has three toilets bowls without any division for privacy.
In a Facebook post, Ehm Diolata shared a photo of the PNR restroom also called as KBK Toilets or Kayo ang Boss Ko Toilets. While the restroom itself was clean, Diolata noted the questionable toilet bowls without any separation from one another for privacy.
Following backlash, PNR has recommended to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) the blacklisting of the contractors of the KBK project.
PNR General Manager Junn Magno explained that the KBK Toilet Facilities were among the projects of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) in 2012.
The project, however, was not turned over to the PNR, citing that the PNR cannot assume responsibility for the unfinished restrooms.
“The project was procured by DOTC separately, one for civil works and the other for supply of the materials, hence, the project was not implemented due to absence of coordination even after the end of the term of the past administration,” Magno said.
The transportation department assured that the project will be properly turned over to PNR and immediate action will be taken to fix the restrooms.
