PBB Teen 1st runner-up Mikee Lee is now successful in Singapore

Mikee Lee once became a household name when he joined PBB Teen Edition 1 which was aired on ABS CBN back in 2006.

He was a batch mate of two of the brightest stars of our generation, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.

Dubbed as “Pambato ng Ateneo,” Lee was the runner-up in that series next to Kim Chiu.

He had some stints in front of the camera like acting in a Your Song episode and Agimat: Ang Mga Alamat ni Ramon Revilla: Tiagong Akyat and hosting various shows like Y Speak and Take 5.

Though he did not end up staying long in show business, Lee is currently enjoying a thriving life in Singapore, Push ABS CBN reported.

He’s now a strategy and planning professional in a company in Singapore.

He shared in an article on Push that, “For the past few years I was working for a consumer goods company, where I helped identify growth opportunities for a portfolio of brands in the region.”

“This is also where I learned what good work looks like. Starting this year, I will be working for a firm that invests in and builds new businesses in Asia – where I will contribute to find ways to grow portfolio companies,” Lee shared.

“I will miss the friends I had made, some are still in show business and some have moved on. I will also miss the shoots, production numbers and the times we would go around the country to meet fans and supporters,” he added.

In hindsight, he said having experienced the showbusiness helped him build his confidence required in his profession today.

But how was he able to establish his break overseas? After his career in television, he took an internship program in Singapore and it became his stepping stone for a fruitful career outside the Philippines.

“At the time it seemed like a good idea since I could get a ‘trial run’ of sorts to live at a beautiful country abroad. After the internship I was lucky to receive an offer, and have been on this path since,” Lee said.

Lee also shared that he is still being recognized by some overseas Filipino workers in Singapore, especially at Lucky Plaza, where a lot of Filipinos go to every weekend.

When asked about what he is missing most back home, Lee said, “I miss family and friends a lot, but I get go visit often for either business or life reasons.”

“I also miss Ateneo – and the teachers and classmates I had. I miss how warm people are to each other and how festive we can be – that is something you cannot easily find abroad unless you are with other Filipinos,” he said. (Source: ABS CBN PUSH)
