In a few weeks, Filipino actress and singer Rachelle Ann Go is saying goodbye as Gigi Van Tranh in ‘Miss Saigon” and will say hello as Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in the West End productions of the hit musical ‘Hamilton’.
Go will be playing the biggest role yet in her career as the wife of America’s founding father, Alexander Hamilton in the acclaimed musical created by the multi-awarded Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Go previously made waves in the international theater scene after appearing in the 2014 revival of ‘Miss Saigon’ in London.
Go is not the only Filipina in “Hamilton.” Fellow Filipina Cristine Allado will be joining her in the West End production as characters Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds.
“I love the show before I got the job. It’s a dream come true, and I’m excited to share it with Rachelle Ann Go who’s playing my sister, so it’s amazing,” Allado said.
‘Hamilton’ dominated last year’s Tony Awards, walking away with 11 awards.
