OFW Jennifer Dalquez’s mother receives from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) the good news that her daughter was acquitted of murder charges in the United Arab Emirates.
Alicia Dalquez says DFA Manila told her that a UAE court acquitted Jennifer on Monday, June 19.
“Masayang-masaya ako at nabunutan ng tinik sa dibdib. Wala akong mapagsidlan ng kasiyahan,” the mother was quoted as saying by Inquirer.
But Mrs. Dalquez says her daughter still has to serve five years imprisonment.
Jennifer’s ordeal started in 2014 when she killed an Emirati police who attempted to rape her. She was sentenced to death the following year.
