Malacañang confirms Marcos’ Singapore weekend trip, claims it was productive

Malacañang has confirmed that President Bongbong Marcos flew to Singapore this weekend calling the visit a productive one.

Press Secretary Trixie Cruz Angeles called the visit as a ‘productive one’ due to the affirmations made in relation to Marcos’ recent state visit.

Angeles also did not mention that Marcos attended the prestigious Formula 1 (F1) racing event at the Singapore Grand Prix.

“Naging produktibo ang pagdalaw sa Singpore ni Pangulong Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. Pinagpatibay niya ang mga pangunahing usapan sa huling state visit sa bayan na ito, at pinatuloy ang paghihikayat sa pag invest sa bayang Pilipinas,” she said.

Singaporean politician Tan See Leng also shared a photo of Marcos and other high-ranking officials thanking them in attended the luxurious and prestigious car event.

“Congratulations to Sergio Perez for winning the Singapore Grand Prix! Happy to meet various Heads of States, Ministers and foreign dignitaries (including Bongbong Marcos, President Surangel Whipps Jr., Cambodia’s Minister attached to the Prime Minister and Managing Director of Electricite Du Cambodge (EDC), Keo Rottanak, Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce, Pan Sorasak, Advisor to the Royal Court, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Fahad Bin Abdullah Toonsi) to affirm our bilateral economic relationships and strengthen collaborations in energy cooperation as well as exchange views on manpower policies on the sidelines of the race,” he wrote.

The race was held from September 30 to October 2 at the Marina Bay Sands Circuit.

Marcos went to Singapore for a state visit from September 6-7.
